The
ability to express clear and concise thoughts and ideas in writing is
an essential part of both academic and life-long success. Students will
write essays, reports, research projects and stories during their academic
career but often, basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, vocabulary, paragraph
structure, and essay development are lacking. Our writing program provides
students with the proper skill sets to excel in all aspects of writing.
The writing process and program is designed to meet the needs of each individual student and includes the following:
- Writing Mechanics
- Essay Development
- Paragraph Organization and Structure
- Grammar
- Spelling and Vocabulary
- Writing Styles – illustrative and descriptive essays, comparative passages, persuasive and expository writing, summaries and outlines
- Ability to give clear and concise responses to questions
- Increase ability of critical thinking skills via analysis and interpretation of written works
