In order for students to understand and excel in advanced mathematics,
they must have a complete mastery of the concepts and basic building
blocks of mathematics. When a basic concept is not understood initially,
and this lack of understanding continues in the future, a student can
become frustrated and discouraged to learn. Our program locates and addresses
these gaps in knowledge so that the student can move forward with confidence
and enthusiasm. When concepts, facts and formulas are memorized, but
the theory behind them is not well understood, their application becomes
difficult for students. For some students, the use of manipulative, verbal
and visual cues can help in understanding and applying mathematical concepts.
The skills of reasoning, logic and the application of concepts in solving
problems continuously develop and improve with practice. This progress
is individually tracked to ensure mastery of skills through timed challenges
and drills. As students realize their success and potential, they become
confident in their ability. The areas covered by our programs include
the following:
Elementary to Middle School
- Math Fundamentals (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Problem Solving
- Computation
- Examples include: fractions, decimals, percents, measurement, graphing, etc.
Middle School to High School
- Pre-Algebra
- Algebra 1 & 2
- Geometry
- Pre-Calculus/ Trigonometry
- Calculus
